Student Opportunities
Outdoor Education
Pedare’s Outdoor Education Program provides Years 4 to 11 students with a unique and hands-on learning experience through whole-year-level programs.
Outdoor Education
Designed to build skills, confidence and resilience, the program fosters personal growth and wellbeing in dynamic outdoor settings. Students engage in activities like bushwalking, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, abseiling, high ropes, raft building, surfing, tent camping and trangia cooking, developing lifelong skills and stepping out of their comfort zones to build perseverance and problem-solving abilities.
The program encourages teamwork, as students face challenges together, strengthening camaraderie and connection with peers, teachers and the wider community. Starting in Junior School, students are gradually introduced to outdoor experiences, with Year 2 students participating in an after-school event and Year 3 students having an on-campus sleepover, easing the transition to overnight camps in later years. This progression sequence allows students to build upon the skills learned in previous years with programs increasing in difficulty and distance, while still catering for all student needs.
Pedare partners with Mylor Adventure Camp for Year 4 and Wilderness Escape Outdoor Adventures for other year levels, ensuring a progressive and inclusive experience. Outdoor learning is an important part of cognitive development and the experiences that students gain through camps are often memories that last a lifetime.
