Welcome to Pedare: a co-educational R-12 Anglican and Uniting Church School established in 1985 at the then, new development of Golden Grove.

At Pedare our vision is to work in partnership with families to provide an exceptional program of learning, inclusive of every student. We aspire to develop confidence, resilience and a strong sense of self-worth in our students by prioritising wellbeing. Through the establishment of respectful relationships between staff and students, we ensure the individual needs of each young person are at the core of their Pedare experience.

Through our focus on exceptional learning and teaching, and the commitment of our dedicated staff, Pedare has a proud history of outstanding academic achievement. The link below provides details of our most recent SACE results.

Senior School students experience a curriculum that is broad, flexible, challenging and diverse. We inspire our students to develop knowledge, skills, capabilities and attitudes relevant to their aspirations, and we take pride in offering pathways to success for all students. In Years 11 and 12 students complete Stages 1 and 2 of the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). Our focus on academic success is underpinned by exceptional staff who challenge students to push the limits of what they believe to be possible.

As an International Baccalaureate School, we encourage our students to be globally focussed. The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) nurtures and develops young students as active participants in a lifelong journey of learning, whilst the Middle Years Programme (MYP) challenges our students to make tangible connections between their studies and the real world.

Learning is designed to foster innovation, collaboration and creativity as we prepare students for success in an increasingly connected and interdependent world.

Our rigorous academic program is complemented by a broad and diverse range of co-curricular opportunities. This allows every student to explore their passions creatively, in an environment where they are encouraged to unlock and grow their unique gifts and talents. The College motto is Let your Light Shine, and every student is provided with the opportunity to explore what this means for them.

We are united by our common goal of fostering inquisitive minds and developing compassionate, respectful young people who encapsulate our Anglican and Uniting Church values. Students are encouraged to contribute meaningfully to society, making a difference to others by imagining better ways.

“We are one. We are Pedare”

The move of our Junior School in 2019 to our Surrey Farm Drive location means that the community is now united on one campus. Our newly updated facilities provide exceptional learning spaces and facilities, and we invite you to visit at any time to experience the Pedare difference personally. You will be welcomed by a community where respect, kindness, inclusivity and compassion permeate our culture.

I look forward to meeting with you at the College, welcoming you to the community and sharing the many wonderful gifts and talents of our students. Details of Open Mornings (held each term), as well as other opportunities to tour Pedare, can be obtained by contacting the College.

Christian Ethos

Pedare is an Independent Anglican and Uniting Church School. The College’s culture, aspirations and principles are founded and fostered on our Christian values and traditions and we welcome students from all backgrounds and faiths. As the College Prayer affirms, we celebrate our diversity knowing that it inspires creativity and builds community strength.

Pedare has strong relationships with its Anglican and Uniting Church founding parishes and strives to teach and nurture faith in God. It is our aim to educate young leaders of the future who are distinguished by compassion, to give more than is received, to serve, and to love with God’s guidance and care.

Our Christian Life and Worship Programs are designed to open a dialogue with students about God, Faith and Spirituality. Whilst Pedare openly communicates its Anglican and Uniting Church Faith background the Christian Life Program also provides an atmosphere for understanding and respect for the diversity of religions and traditions within our community. We aim always to be sincere, respectful and reflective in spiritual matters, and we encourage our students to explore their own personal faith journey. The College Chaplain conducts the worship program supported by students and staff.

The Religious Education program engages students from R – 12 with rigorous academic reflection on topics such as The Meaning of Life, Who Am I, and Where did I come from? These big questions are dealt with on different levels and are indeed continually explored on a journey during a lifetime.

  • The Junior School Curriculum centers around exploring a variety of Bible stories and Characters that teach us many of the Christian Values.
  • The Middle School Curriculum engages with many of the issues that life brings such as Homelessness, Discrimination and Forgiveness and how Christian Values help us to respect one another.
  • In Senior School students study Comparative Religions to develop a knowledge and understanding of the global environment in which we live. They develop logical reasoning skills in dealing with some difficult issues in Situational Ethics and Philosophy. Student engagement with Christian Ethics is always a highlight of the course.

College Prayer

Almighty God,

You have blessed our College and made it a place of learning, support and spiritual growth.

We give thanks for the students and their families, for the staff and for the many friends and supporters of Pedare.

Give us an open heart towards others, knowing that our diversity inspires creativity and builds community strength.

May your Holy Spirit fill us, guide us and strengthen us for each new day, so that the light of your love shines brightly through us.

This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Saviour. AMEN
